It's true.. I'm going to be a mom come January! For the last year and a half, we've taken the approach that "it will happen when God wants it to happen" and well, his timing couldn't have been more perfect. I'm 13 weeks today and officially out of my first trimester.
Thoughts on my first trimester: Sleep... all I could do was sleep. I've had morning sickness on about 10 different occasions. Which really isn't bad at all. I've heard some people have it for weeks on end! And based on my cravings.. Mexican food, sweets, etc. a lot of people think I'm having a girl. So the questions I am getting most.. Do you want a boy or girl? My answer: All I want is a healthy baby. Before I got pregnant I remember how I'd day dream about having a little girl with dark skin like her daddy and blue eyes like mine.. I thought about how handsome our little boy would be and how funny his personality was going to be... once you're pregnant everything changes. You realize how many things your body is responsible for and that creating a human really is nothing short of a miracle. Having a healthy baby is honestly my biggest prayer request for the next 6 or so months.
Baby names: Growing up with 5 sisters and a brother I got to dream up quite a few girl names. Naturally my list of girl names is about a foot long. Boy names, on the other hand, have been a real struggle. So for now, we've decided to put off the name search until we find out the gender next month!
The Nursery: You guys remember that office I worked so hard on a few months back? Well... that is officially the nursery. Haha! Living in a two bedroom tudor, it wasn't much of a choice, but I'm rolling with it and I have a feeling XO will have a much bigger space before we know it. Speaking of business. Some people have wondered what this means for 2016 weddings. Honestly, it doesn't change anything for me other than I will not be booking January or February weddings. Those are typically the slowest months anyway, so again.. the timing is just perfect. I am bringing in 3-4 girls this Fall/Winter to assist me with weddings. They are all past and future brides that I just adore so much!
We have our next ultrasound on Tuesday, and I am so excited to hear that sweet heartbeat!!!! Thank you all so much for your sweet words over the last week. I am so lucky to get to share this special journey to motherhood with you! Big BIG thank you to Something Gold Photography for capturing our announcement for us! We love you!
